How to Use Free Packaging Dieline Templates
Open the File in Illustrator
Open the provided PDF dieline file in Adobe Illustrator. Keep all dieline strokes organized on a separate layer named “Die-Cut” to maintain clarity and prevent them from printing accidentally.
Set Proper Bleed and Safe Zones
Set artwork bleed to at least 2 mm. Ensure all critical text, logos, and key design elements are placed no closer than 2 mm from the trim line to prevent cutting errors or misalignment.
Verify Pouch Configurations
Confirm all pouch configurations such as zipper type and position, valve location, notch placement, and hang-hole diameter. Make sure these settings match your intended final packaging design before proceeding.
Export a Print-Ready PDF
When exporting your final artwork, include the dieline as a spot color named “CutContour” and ensure it is set to 100% spot color with overprint enabled. This ensures accurate cutting recognition during printing.
Request a Proof Before Production
Before starting mass production, request either a physical sample or a digital proof from PackagingBest to verify all details, alignment, and finishing accuracy.
Pro Tips: All measurements are in millimeters (mm). If you work in inches, convert values during your prepress stage and double-check all safe zones.
